New report: Home prices increased by 30% due to this policy from Biden

Over recent years, Americans have witnessed a significant rise in housing and rental costs. There are many factors people point to, from interest rates to insufficient construction. However, Ron Simmons believes that illegal immigration has been a major contributor, particularly during the Biden administration.

“Home prices have surged substantially while Biden has been in office, and he suggests that a notable part of this—perhaps up to 30% of the increase in home prices and 20% for rents—can be attributed to illegal immigration,” he shared on the show, Relatable.

He references studies from the Dallas Federal Reserve, which argue that the influx of workers has boosted job creation without significantly affecting wages, but has increased demand for housing in already strained markets.

“In rapidly expanding areas like Texas, the growth has outpaced the construction of new housing, putting immense pressure on the housing market. Illegal immigration feeds into this situation,” Simmons elaborated.

He further stated, “Roughly 30% of employment growth can be linked to illegal immigration, which corresponds to similar figures for housing and rent increases.”

Vice President J.D. Vance has a related perspective, noting that new home prices have doubled since Biden took office. “In just four years, we’ve seen a 100% increase. Comparatively, during Trump’s term, the change was only about 1% to 2%. This is more in line with expectations,” he highlighted.

“While we’ve managed to reduce the number of illegal immigrants considerably—though certainly not all—we’re in a much stronger position now,” Simmons pointed out. “It’s remarkable that our current levels of illegal immigration are the lowest since 1970.”
