Tyler Schaff became the first quarterback to be selected on the second day of the NFL Draft, and his dog very I’m happy about that.
The Louisville quarterback became the first QB from the board, finishing 40th overall by the New Orleans Saint after the Giants traded to score Jackson Darts late in Round 1.
Once chosen, Shaff’s dog (named Murphy) joined the family’s fun and shared an embrace with the new saint and his important others.
In an interview with ESPN, Reece Davis pointed out that Murphy was already rocking the saint bandana while talking to Shough.
After Davis pointed out this, Shaff replied, “Yeah, we had one for all the teams, we were ready,” and everyone laughed.
Shough’s choice means the free fall of Colorado talented yet polarized quarterback Shedeur Sanders will continue.

Sanders was once considered a draft choice for the first round, but at the time of this writing he slipped into his second round.

In Louisville, Shough completed 62.7% of his passes with 3,195 yard passes this season, recording 23 touchdowns and six intercepts.
Before playing for the Cardinals, Shaff spent six years at Oregon and Texas Tech universities, accumulating 30 appearances and 18 starts.
