Recently released footage portrays the tragic moment a teenager from Queens was shot at close range in a park, causing thousands of young people to flee in panic.
This alarming video, recorded just a few feet away from where the incident took place, features 15-year-old Jayden Pierre leaning against a fence in Roy Wilkins Park, moments before he encounters his attackers and is shot in the chest.
The clip shows Jayden being assaulted by a group of kids at the Nautilus Playground on Thursday night, just prior to the eruption of gunfire.
As the mob moves in, the footage captures the attackers hitting Jayden in the head, followed by the sound of gunshots.
Jayden collapses as the crowd, including other children who were witnessing the confrontation, runs away in fear.
A girl’s voice is heard in the background exclaiming, “Oh my god, oh my god,” as she records her frantic escape, while fear echoes in the air around her.
“Oh my god,” she repeats, filming her own worried expression.
Former Mayor Eric Adams shared another angle of the violence that shows Jayden being struck before the shooting occurred.
After the incident, Jayden was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Authorities are offering a $3,500 reward for any information that could help lead to an arrest in the case of the suspect, who remains at large.
