Neighbor Ashton Brady told NewsNation he was getting ready for bed on Jan. 9 when he noticed a distressed woman walking near his home in Willis, Missouri. That’s when the girlfriend of one of the dead men finally discovered the body.
Within minutes, several police cars and ambulances were on the scene, and Mr. Brady filmed Mr. Willis, an HIV researcher who had hosted the party, standing on a stoop, handcuffed, being interrogated.
“Brother, what’s going on right now,” Brady can be heard saying in the video obtained by NewsNation. “What’s happening now?”
Brady said: NewsNation, Willis went to sleep thinking it was a domestic incident, but three fans were found dead the next day, two days after Willis hosted a Chiefs watch party. He said he learned about it.
“The police searched the whole house and went into the backyard, but they had no idea what happened,” he said.
“I watched the news the next morning. I was just kind of in disbelief. … I saw it happen.”
Willis was killed two days after Ricky Johnson, 38, David Harrington, 37, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, gathered at the home to watch a game between the Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers. was found dead in his backyard.
The paper said the frantic woman Brady saw across the street was McGeeney’s fiancée, and that McGeeney called police after discovering the body.
