Newly released video shows the moment a Kentucky sheriff allegedly points a gun at a judge's head and shoots him.
Surveillance footage shows Letcher County Sheriff Shawn Stines, 43, and District Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, in the judge's chambers on Sept. 19, with the sheriff pulling out a gun and pointing it at the judge. They are seen having a heated conversation earlier.
The video showed Mullins sitting behind a desk when Stines pulled out a gun and Mullins raising his hands and trying to turn away just before Stines fired several shots at him.
Previously released footage of the shooting was reportedly played in court during Tuesday's preliminary hearing. delivery journal.

The video showed Mullins trying to hide under a desk while Steins fired the gun. According to the footage, the sheriff approached the judge, who was still under his desk, and fired two shots at close range, before leaving the courtroom.
Kentucky Detective Clayton Stamper testified that the deputy surrendered immediately after the shooting.
Stamper said Stein told police, “They're trying to kidnap my wife and child.”
The sheriff and judge had been friends for decades and had lunch together hours before the alleged murder.

According to the Courier-Journal, Stamper said additional surveillance footage from the room, which has not been shown in court, shows the sheriff's office using his and Mullins' cellphones to call his daughter multiple times shortly before the shooting. He said that the video showed him being there.
Stamper said police found Stein's daughter's phone number on the judge's cell phone.
Defense lawyer Jeremy Bartley did not provide a motive for the shooting, but authorities were reportedly investigating the incident as a possible sex scandal.
