A Manhattan grand jury has indicted New York City Mayor Eric Adams on federal criminal charges, multiple sources confirmed to Fox News, although details of the indictment were not made public.
Multiple sources confirmed to Fox News that the indictment could be unsealed as early as tomorrow.
The FBI and Department of Justice have declined to comment on the matter, and it is unclear who Adams has hired as his personal attorney.
“I knew that standing up for the people of New York would make me a target, and I did,” Adams said in a statement obtained by The Associated Press. “If charged, I am innocent and I will fight with all my heart and soul.”
Several people around the 63-year-old former NYPD cop have already been searched.

In February, FBI agents searched the Bronx home of Winnie Greco, one of the mayor's top aides. In November, agents swarmed the home of Cenk Ocal, a former Turkish Airlines executive who joined the mayor's transition team. That same month, agents visited Brianna Suggs, the mayor's fundraising chief.
