New York City police officer accused of attempting to help her alleged drug-dealer boyfriend fired

Jessica Tish, the Police Commissioner, has dismissed Alisa Bajraktarevich from the NYPD. Bajraktarevich, who is suing the department, had faced issues when explicit photos of her circulated among officers.

This incident dates back to 2023 when Bajraktarevich, 34, was suspended for 30 days after intervening during a police operation aimed at stopping a car associated with her boyfriend, a known drug dealer, in the Bronx.

During the stop, tension escalated between the police and both Bajraktarevich and her boyfriend, Kelvin Hernandez, 33. Hernandez found himself charged with resisting arrest and is also pursuing legal action against the police department, as he claims he wasn’t involved in any drug dealings.

At that time, there were indications from police sources suggesting that he was under investigation for drug-related activities.

Bajraktarevich filed her lawsuit last year at the Manhattan Supreme Court, alleging that her career took a nosedive after the photos were shared in police group chats. She had sent a provocative picture to an officer named Mark Rivera, who purportedly passed it along to others.

Some of her social media accounts display her in suggestive poses, like sunbathing in Cancun or at the gym, which has led to public discussions about her actions.

Having served 12 years in the NYPD, she is now seeking unspecified damages from the city, Rivera, and another supervisor whom she accused of sexual harassment in 2022.

Bajraktarevich’s lawyer, John Skola, claims her dismissal was retaliatory, stating that the illegal sharing of her photos and her harassment lawsuit were key factors behind the termination.

The NYPD has confirmed her firing but has refrained from further comments.
