What is this? … What the hell? !
In the 2024 season, the New York Giants are set to turn things around in a few games. Really throw it back.
New York is trying to go back to their past, in fact, to the days when they first started building their franchise. And they did just that by designing “Century Red” uniforms to commemorate their 100th season. At least twice this upcoming campaign, the Giants will wear throwback uniforms that pay homage to the franchise’s history. It has not been announced at this time which games it will be worn.
The uniforms celebrating the franchise’s 100th anniversary feature modern versions of the 1933 jerseys, 1925 pants (and socks) and 1938 helmets. Clearly, the emphasis on the Giants’ 100th anniversary is meant to tell the story of a franchise with a rich history: being part of a team that played in its first NFL championship game (1925), won its first title (1933) and won an early title (1938).
“The Century Red uniforms are a modern twist on early uniforms and are worn to honor the players who built the foundation of Giants football,” said Doug, New York Giants Director of Creative Services. Murphy said. ESPN. “As we have previously brought back many modern uniform combinations, we carefully researched past Giants uniforms to ensure historical accuracy. I’m proud of that.”
