New York is the star city

Whenever I feel the urge to relieve some temporary stress build-up, I always put on my favorite Sinatra number.

start spreading the news

I’m leaving today

I want to be one of them too.

philadelphia, philadelphia

Oh, wait a minute.

Don’t think this is anything Old Blue Eyes ever sang.

No disrespect intended when Jalen Brunson and the Knicks start defending Madison Square Garden against the Big Bad Joel Embiid and the 76ers.

No lame Liberty Bell jokes here.

No, Philadelphia Santa Claus wisely boos here.

no need.

Be sure to check out Celebrity Row in Mecca, also known as Madison Square Garden, on Saturday nights around 6pm. New York has always been a star town.

Compare that to Game 3 next Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center. There’s a reason the Sixers proposed building a new 18,500-seat, state-of-the-art arena on Market Street near City Hall.

Did anyone ever call the Wells Fargo Center the most famous arena in the world?

Choose one for history: Yankee Stadium or Citizens Bank Park?

When was the last time you heard someone refer to Philadelphia as the entertainment capital of the world, or the first time you heard it?

Philadelphia, Philadelphia, a city so wonderful that it was named twice.

Oh, wait a minute.

Despite all these vile and abusive Eagles fans, there are many fans in the Philadelphia sportswriting community that I really like and respect.

They’ll forgive me for telling New York Post readers that it’s a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.

Nothing personal.

Have you seen the movie “A Bronx Tale”? I have recurring nightmares of Bronx-born Chazz Palminteri locking me and some friends in a bar in Philadelphia and ominously telling me, “You’re never getting out of here.”

Those Eagles fans mentioned above are having a great time watching their sons beat the Giants these days. The Eagles’ first Super Bowl win was even more rock-solid with Nick Foles at the controls.

There’s no way I could point out that this city had to wait 50 years after Norm Van Brocklin’s victory to win another football championship.

I can’t help but remind Philadelphia that the New York Football Giants keep four Lombardi trophies in a glass case inside Giants Drive in 1925.

As for the Jets, no, they haven’t won since Broadway Joe won on January 12, 1969, but Rich Kotite was in such a hurry to leave Philadelphia that he returned to his new home. I have to point this out. York aims to lead the Jets to a 4-28 record in two seasons.

The Phillies have won the World Series twice. That ties them to the Mets. This puts them 25 points behind the Yankees.

The Flyers, Broad Street Bully except when Islanders enforcer Clark Gillies hit Dave Schultz, have won two Stanley Cups. The Rangers won four games. The Islanders won four straight games in the first inning.

The 76ers hold a 3-2 championship advantage over the Knicks, but that doesn’t mean Spike Lee is down.

Author Thomas Wolfe: “One immediately belongs to New York. One belongs to it for five minutes as much as it takes five years.”

There’s no need to ditch Pat’s or Geno’s, two of Philadelphia’s crown cheesesteak palaces that I’ve enjoyed. At least not by me.

“They say I’m the hero of Philadelphia cheesesteaks and chicken parm, but 10 times out of 10 I get chicken parm,” colleague Paul Schwartz told the Post. “That’s way better than that shaved beef Velveeta cheese BS.”

There was nothing to layer, so Paul ordered slices from Essa Bagels, Utopia Bagels, John’s Pizza in Bleecker, or pretty much anywhere in the five boroughs, Katz Deli, Bernie Greengrass, Elio’s, Park He also refrained from mentioning his side restaurant, Le Bernardin. Emilio Barato…

Travel Magazine: “From Central Park, the Empire State Building, Ellis Island, world-famous museums, Times Square, and Broadway, to the distinct local flavors of each, the diversity of its residents is matched by Just the diversity of activities: the neighborhood and the hidden treasures it has to offer. And don’t forget to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, eat ethnic food in Astoria, Queens, and the Bronx. Visit the zoo and take a ride on the Staten Island Ferry for amazing (and free!) views of the Statue of Liberty.”

Good luck to my old New York Post colleague and South Philadelphia pride Anthony “The Kaz” Gargano on his new internet-based ALLCITY network daily show. No one saw Gargano and the Philadelphia Phanatic attending the same party his FWIW.

“Nobody cares as much as Philadelphia sports fans care,” Gargano reportedly said in a recent Q&A with City Life magazine.

oh yeah?

Join us on Saturday night at Kazu, the world’s most famous arena.

Yo, Frankie boy:

If I can get there

I’ll try

New York, New York.
