New York jewelers claim Travis Kelce could have secured a better deal on Swift’s engagement ring with them.

New York jewelers claim Travis Kelce could have secured a better deal on Swift's engagement ring with them.

Apparently, there was potential for a better deal than what was initially struck.

A jeweller from New York City stated on Tuesday that Travis Kelce might have paid too much for Taylor Swift’s engagement ring and could have found it for a fraction of the cost if he had gone to the Diamond District.

“They should’ve reached out to me! I could’ve offered it for half the price. I’ve got a soft spot for football players and their families,” said Bobby Samanoglu, the 72-year-old owner of Bright Diamonds, shortly after the couple made their engagement public.

Custom lock with old mine cushion cut diamonds is estimated to be about eight carats.

Jeweller Kindred Lubeck from Artifex Fine mentioned to Page 6 that the ring might reach a value of $1 million, while the Vice President of Merchandising at Jared Jewellers offered a different take, suggesting it could be around $500,000.

While the actual amount that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end paid remains unclear, the New York jeweller insisted he could provide a more attractive deal.

Moses, the jeweller, shared with the Post that he potentially saved Kelce a considerable amount, estimating the ring’s price at around $400,000.

“Celebrities typically want something special, something hard to find that meets their standards. That’s just the nature of things; they tend to have everything else already,” he noted.

“Even if he did overpay, once it goes to auction, it could fetch ten times what he originally spent. Once they attach their names to it, the value can really skyrocket,” he added.

Maridani’s gem Ephraim Maridani expressed that Kelce likely paid a premium due to Swift’s celebrity status.

“They often pay more for brand names—hundreds of percent more,” he remarked.

He described the ring’s style as “very Art Deco,” suggesting that old mine cut styles offer good value.

“It appears significantly larger than its actual size,” said Maridani, 47.

Celebrity jeweller Moshe Haimov, known as “Watch King,” also indicated he could offer a more competitive price.

“But honestly, when it comes to love, you might just end up overpaying,” he reflected. “Still, I could have probably provided him with a better option.”

Swift and Kelce officially began their relationship in 2023, making their engagement announcement on Tuesday.

In a joint Instagram post, they quipped, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are married.”

While the ring carries a hefty price tag, luxury options aren’t completely out of reach for other affluent New Yorkers.

Maridani, eager to assist customers looking for a similar ring, mentioned, “If they reference the New York Post, they’ll get a 10% discount.”
