The New York Liberty, like many teams in the league, has started to trim their rosters. On Saturday, they announced the release of forward Caitlin Davis during the first training camp.
Drafted with the 35th pick in 2024, Davis spent three years at Columbia University before completing her senior season at the University of Southern California during 2023-24. She averaged 6 points per game with a shooting percentage of 54.4% and pulled down 5.8 rebounds at USC.
New York Liberty Training Camp Roster Includes 14 Players
The Liberty currently has 14 players signed and is expected to make additional cuts—perhaps two or three—by the May 15 deadline. Teams are allowed to keep up to 12 players, but many opt to maintain 11 for financial reasons.
At present, three players have guaranteed contracts:
- Guard Natasha Cloud (secured veteran)
- Center Jonquel Jones (protected veteran)
- Forward Breanna Stewart (protected veteran)
There are also 11 players under contract:
- Guard Marchesha Davis
- Forward Leonie Fevich
- Guard Sublinayonesk
- Center Nyara Sabally
- Forward Kennedy Burke
- Forward Rebekah Gardner
- Forward Isabel Harrison
- Guard Marine Johannes
- Forward Esmery Martinez
- Forward Leana Odom
- Guard Jaylin Sherod
In the 2025 draft, the Liberty chose French center Adda Kane with the 38th overall pick. She remains overseas and is not included in the current training camp roster.
