A New York woman and two young children were seen narrowly avoiding a manhole explosion in a dramatic incident filmed on video.
Lisa Davis just missed an explosion at Poughkeepsie on Saturday as she and her two grandchildren were walking down the sidewalk after an Easter egg hunt. ABC News.
“I was like, ‘Oh my god, I don’t know.’ I didn’t know where to go,” she told the station. “I didn’t know what to do other than grab my grandson and run.”
The footage shows a woman walking on a manhole cover while holding a stroller with a young child. After a few seconds, the cover explodes and sends concrete into the air.

Poughkeepsie fire Department “A manhole in the middle of the block and another manhole at the corner of the academy and church streets also exploded three pedestrians that were very narrow and lacking.”
“The company discovered high levels of carbon monoxide in multiple buildings, and residents of all buildings on that block were evacuated until gas levels were eased,” he said.

Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation spokesman Mid Hudson News The explosion is “the result of an electrical failure in the underground cable and has nothing to do with the natural gas distribution system.”

“While manhole events due to electrical faults are not uncommon, they still pose a risk of damage and injuries. Fortunately, we were informed that no one was hurt in this case,” the spokesman said.
