“Americans were reminded Saturday of the threat that political violence poses to our democracy,” said the editorial, titled “Attack on Donald Trump is Un-American.” “We are fortunate that Donald Trump escaped serious injury in the shooting at his evening campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, just north of Pittsburgh, but it is tragic that at least one person was killed at the rally. We wish Mr. Trump a speedy and full recovery.”
