New York Times Opinion Video mocks Democratic ‘resistance’ to Trump

The New York Times opinion video targeted Democrats on Monday, laughing at their #Resistance's response to President Donald Trump and his supporters.

Democrats have been working on the defeat of former Vice President Kamala Harris and the party's advancement after losing the presidency and the Senate in the 2024 election.

The Times opinion video It started with a narration saying, “Democrats, your party leader has a stupid plan to stop Trump by boldly doubling everything that has never worked before.”

The video, titled “On the other hand… is this what Democrats do?”, will be cut by Senator Maxine Waters, Senator Chuck Schumer (DN.Y. and D-Calif), who chants “We're going to win” and “We're not going to rest,” protests against Elon Musk's role in the Trump administration.

The video includes clips of Americans who voted for Trump and now regretted, giving some examples of liberals who cried out at Trump voters saying their support was “ripe for the doses,” and shouted at Trump voters, “I told you.”

The editor included Ana Navarro, co-host of “The View,” a self-proclaimed Republican who has publicly supported the Democrats since Trump entered the political scene.

“America, you know, your people who voted for Trump: This is what you wanted. This is what you voted for. You're screwed around and you're trying to find it,” she responded to the appointment of Trump's Tom Homan as Border Emperor at the November show.

Voiceover then continued jokingly.

Step 1 is to “scratch” “from the safety of the echo chamber.” This part says former CNN host Don Lemon to tell Trump voters, “Yes, I shine with your stupidity.”

The video also chuckled at the performance by liberals to counter Trump as another step.

Towards the end, the video got a little more serious, warning that by the time the middle period came, Democrats would change from resisting swing voter courtship, it would be “too late.”

“Democrats spend two years rubbing Maga's face in the mud, providing a consistent message, instead of giving in to empty performance gestures and giving in to fatigue instead of mobilizing,” the narration continued. “The election is won by stripping a few swing voters away, but #Resistance has further alienated them.”

“It's understandable that you feel angry and tired. It's not easy to go high. But don't forget that your actions will decide who will win the next election.” The video concluded that “Democrats will need a better rally cry than 'I told you'.”

Opinion video producers Amanda Su and Alexander Stockton said, “To get dark, as it appears to be this moment, Democrats have the opportunity to capitalize on the chaos created by Donald Trump.
