Gov. Kristy Noem (R-SD) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that former President Donald Trump’s conviction by a Manhattan jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records was the result of a “rigged judicial process.”
“His message is his only revenge is the success of America. He’s not interested in going after political opponents. He’s interested in returning to the White House to work for the American people and their families and bringing down the cost of inflation, and that’s what I’m hearing overwhelmingly in Wisconsin,” Noem said.
She continued, “President Trump has warned the American people that if they begin to weaponize the justice system like they did against him, it can happen to any president, any political opponent.”
Noem added, “He wants people to have confidence in the justice system. He wants to make sure there’s still law and order in this country. If you look at conservative parts of this country, places that have been Republican-controlled, there’s law and order, there’s peace and stability. If you go to Democratic states and cities, there’s destruction, there’s justice systems, trials, corrupt judges who are prosecuting political opponents. That was New York. New York was a rigged justice process against the president, there’s no question about it. It was politically motivated.”
