New Yorker Helps Catch Alleged Porch Pirate Fleeing Officers

On January 3, a citizen helped apprehend a suspected porch pirate in Yonkers, New York, and law enforcement thanked him for his assistance.

The suspect, 27-year-old Francisco Jose Edel Mateo, was attempting to run from police when a city worker tackled him, catching him by surprise. new york post report Monday.

Police flooded the area to prevent the suspect from attempting to escape, and a good Samaritan, who saw an opportunity to help us, stopped him.
