Dominique McShine, a 21-year-old influencer from New Zealand, passed away after bravely documenting his battle with bowel cancer in Tiktok. She was diagnosed with ineffective colorectal cancer at the age of 20, which had spread to the liver. Her death was confirmed by people Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025. The exact date of her death is unknown, but Ms McShane shared the last update on April 6th, revealing that she has entered terminal care due to a rapidly worsening condition. In a heartbreaking post, the young Tiktok star said he was recently given a prognosis “only lived a few days to weeks.”
Ms McShain had gained over 200,000 followers on Tiktok and Instagram by documenting her cancer journey, aiming to raise awareness about colorectal cancer in young adults. In her last post, she expressed her gratitude to her life, family and friends, saying, “My life may be short, but I think I squeezed a bit from it. I won the lottery with my family who unconditionally loves me.

Ms McShain was pursuing a degree in psychology when the diagnosis interrupted her research. In 2024, she was given a prognosis of 1-5 years to live there. Despite her terminal diagnosis, she married her partner Sean Sucson and took a honeymoon in Thailand in December 2024. She said she had no privilege of time and needed to hurry up their love story.
