Recently, the Justice Department has destroyed millions of documents, which included previously unreleased images of Jeffrey Epstein’s body and his cell after he died in 2019.
Included were two key documents: an FBI death investigation from their New York office and a report from the Metropolitan Correctional Center’s Lieutenant’s Office. These contain numerous photos of Epstein, found hanging in his cell in the early morning hours of August 10, 2019.
One report, designated as “EFTA00134598,” depicts Epstein’s orange prison shirt torn while paramedics attempted CPR.
The images reveal a TENS pad on his chest, used in CPR, and he had a neck brace on, along with an oxygen tank and a clear tube in his mouth.
There’s also a photo showing his face, severely swollen and red, with a gash on his neck, clearly indicating where a makeshift noose had pressed against him.
Additional images depict his cell, where a piece of fabric believed to be the noose is still linked to a metal bed frame.
Another picture shows significant damage to his thyroid cartilage.
In the death investigation labeled “EFTA00161494,” there are detailed accounts of what unfolded in Epstein’s last moments, filled with graphic photographs of paramedics trying to bring him back.
On August 9, just a day before his death, Epstein had appeared in court in the morning, while his cellmate had done so later that day.
The report mentions that Epstein’s cellmate wouldn’t be returning, indicating that he would need a new cellmate after his visit with his lawyer.
That night, Epstein made a phone call lasting around 20 minutes, though the report does not specify whom he spoke to.
Epstein was allowed to make calls while in the shower area, but since he hadn’t set up an access code and PIN, an officer had to dial for him.
After this, the officer left him with two other officers who had been working overtime until the early hours of August 10.
At 6:33 a.m. that morning, an internal alarm was triggered, and a lieutenant was informed that “Epstein had hanged himself,” according to the report.
One officer noted, “We didn’t complete the 3 a.m. or 5 a.m. patrols,” while another admitted, “We failed,” before correcting themselves, saying it was their fault, not anyone else’s.’
After being moved to the medical area on the second floor, a lieutenant and then a nurse attempted CPR, but no pulse was found.
He was subsequently transferred to an ambulance and taken to Beekman Hospital, where he was officially declared dead at 7:36 a.m.
Epstein is thought to have taken his own life in a New York City jail while awaiting federal charges for sex trafficking minors and conspiracy related to it.
He’s been accused of exploiting countless women and children at locations including his Manhattan townhouse, his Caribbean island of Little St. James, and his ranch in New Mexico.
