Newly surfaced video shows rally-goers notifying police of would-be assassin right before shots fired at Trump

Newly released video shows attendees at a Butler rally calling police to locate the assassin on the roof of a building, moments before the gunman fired multiple shots at former President Donald Trump.

previous Unreleased Video The photo shows a large group of rally attendees gathered near the American Glass Research building, about 450 feet from the stage where Trump spoke Saturday.

“Look, they’re all pointing,” said the person who filmed the cellphone footage.

He then points out that “someone is on the roof” and that the person is “lying down.”

The man zoomed in on the roof and saw the would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crookes.

The gunman on the roof is seen adjusting himself before returning to a prone position.

Someone in the crowd called out to officers to let them know there was a suspicious man on the roof.

A woman yells, “He’s on the roof!”

The video ends abruptly before a gunshot is heard.

According to audio and video footage, rally attendees called police about 1 minute and 25 seconds before the gunman opened fire on Trump.

The new video raises further questions about the safety of the event.

In addition to the newly surfaced video, a new report released Sunday night alleges that the U.S. Secret Service had identified the assassin’s rooftop as a potential weak spot before the fatal shooting.

The allegations were made by two sources, including a former Secret Service agent familiar with security planning for the Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

NBC News It noted that the roof was a “well-known, high-priority vulnerability” that had been reported as having been “identified during a security patrol the previous day.”

A former Secret Service agent said: NBC News“Someone should have been on the roof or the building should have been secured so no one could get on the roof.”

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the rooftop used by the shooter falls under the jurisdiction of local police.

The media also reported that the Secret Service deployed two sniper teams to the Trump rally.

The source said counter-snipers did not need permission to shoot the assassins and “no prior procedures were followed.”
