A Christian rock band famous for its hit songs God Is Not Dead The film has recorded new songs for the latest installment in the series, including a new song by the Newsboys, I swear to Godwill be appearing in the upcoming film God is not dead: we believe in Godwill hit theaters on September 12th. The song will be released as part of their new album on July 19th. Global Recovery: Part 1.
“We just finished filming,” Newsboys bassist Adam Agee told Crosswalk Headlines. “We’re really excited.”
“We’re excited,” the band’s official Instagram channel said.
Of course, the Newsboys are just God Is Not Dead Since their release in the 1980s, 35 songs have made it onto Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs list and 33 have reached number one at radio.
But for many movie fans, they God Is Not Dead Movie. The hit film that was the first in the series. God Is Not Dead (2014), which uses the Newsboys song of the same name (although the song was actually released two years before the film). God Is Not Dead: Light in the DarknessAlso includes songs by the Newsboys GuiltyBoth films showed the band in concert.
Meanwhile, The Newsboys are just weeks away from releasing their latest album. Global Reconstruction: Part 1, The first part of a two-part album. One song from this project is, Heaven on Earthhas already racked up nearly 1 million views on YouTube.
Agee said the band’s goal with the album was to “spark a revival everywhere we go.”
This summer, the Newsboys Worldwide Revival Night trip.
“The crowd gives us energy, and you can tell that everyone there is going through something in their life,” Agee said. “That’s why we listen to Christian music, to hopefully be uplifted and to be led to the King, so we never get bored of it.”
When asked what advice he would give to Christians living in a dark culture, frontman Michael Tate told Crosswalk Headlines: “Keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t worry, don’t be afraid. That’s not going to help you. God is in control of everything. We either believe in that or we don’t.”
