Pelosi Supports Newsom’s Assessment on Republican Tactics

During an appearance on CNN’s “Led” this Wednesday, Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) expressed agreement with California Governor Gavin Newsom’s perspectives.

Host Jake Tapper inquired, asking, “Dr. Governor… I’m committed to countering this issue in areas like California. Are you on board with that?”

Pelosi responded affirmatively, stating, “Yes. But before diving into that, let me express that what you just outlined involves the reduction of minority representation in Texas, which is unfortunate. There’s a committee in California overseeing this issue. This exemplifies the lack of substantial ideas from the Republicans, who resort to such tactics to maintain control. However, we will defend our communities and align with California if Texas chooses to proceed with these actions.”

Tapper then remarked, referring to Newsom, “You mentioned that the Republicans are prepared for the 2026 election. Is that your perspective?”

Pelosi confirmed, saying, “Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely, but that’s just who they are. Yet, there’s a significant risk in this election. We’re determined to regain control of the House, fully. We only need three seats, but I certainly aim for thirty. They are aware of this and will attempt to manipulate this process. The committee is cautioning us that in the next round, it’ll be back to re-drawing the districts.”
