Newsom's Press Office Faces Threat Claims After Kristi Noem Post

Threat Assessment Requested for Governor Newsom’s Post

The office of California Governor Gavin Newsom has suggested involving the Secret Service for threat evaluations following a post made on X.

On Saturday, Newsom’s press office shared a message on X, stating, “Christa Noem will have a bad day today. You are welcome, America.”

Bill Essaylie, a U.S. attorney in the Central District of California, emphasized the seriousness of the situation, declaring, “There is zero tolerance for direct or implicit threats to government officials. We introduced this issue to @SecretService and requested a full threat assessment.”

Daily Wire host Matt Walsh commented, noting, “This is something that almost verbatim, multiple accounts on this site tweeted about Charlie before he was assassinated.”

Entrepreneur Shiraj Hashmi pointed out the timing by posting a screenshot of previous accusations against someone supposedly linked to a murder, stating, “10 days apart.”

Chloe Cole, known for her outspoken views, described Newsom’s behavior as “psychotic,” especially so soon after a notable political assassination.

Tricia McLaughlin from the Department of Homeland Security remarked, “It reads like a threat. This is ugly, @gavinnewsom. People might hide behind their computers to say this, but they wouldn’t speak like this in person.”

White House Communications Director Stephen Chen expressed disgust, commenting, “Bringing up such a threat, especially during Charlie’s anniversary weekend, is not acceptable. This is what happens when Governor Newsom behaves irrationally toward left-wing extremists.”

Abigail Jackson, a Deputy White House Press Secretary, questioned, “What on earth does this mean?”

Dan Scabino, the White House Vice Chief of Staff, criticized the situation, saying, “These individuals are on a dark path. They are angry people who dislike America. Remember this come election time!”

Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican candidate for governor of Ohio, added, “This isn’t what America needs right now, @gavinnewsom. Seriously.”

After three hours, Newsom’s press office issued a follow-up, highlighting a “Bad Day” post while noting that the governor was signing a significant legislative package aimed at protecting immigrants and holding Trump accountable.

This reaction comes amidst previous instances where inflammatory rhetoric was noted in the press. Earlier reports indicated that Newsom had used offensive language against Republicans, including statements made on a podcast where he suggested violence against opponents.

The tragic assassination of Kirk on September 10 shocked many; it occurred while Tyler Robinson, aged 22, was giving a speech at Utah Valley University.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox revealed insights about the suspect, saying he held views “very different” from his conservative family. Cox also mentioned that Robinson had undergone a complicated romantic transition involving transgender partners. Reports also alluded to Robinson’s interest in certain types of video games.

National figures, including former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and President Donald Trump, expressed their sorrow. Trump has suggested awarding a Presidential Freedom Medal posthumously.

Actress Justin Bateman highlighted the importance of being cautious with language and the potential consequences of political rhetoric, especially following Kirk’s murder, urging politicians to be aware of their words.
