Newt Gingrich Says Biden’s Millions In Fundraising Won’t ‘Overcome Reality’

Former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said on Fox News on Monday that the “millions of dollars” President Joe Biden has invested in advertising will not “overcome” voters’ “realities” on key issues like the economy.

Gingrich appeared on “Hannity” to discuss the divisions within the Democratic Party that support Biden’s reelection after a video went viral of him helping former President Barack Obama escort the president off a fundraiser stage. Fox host Sean Hannity questioned Gingrich, who questioned the close race, listing voters’ top concerns including inflation, the ongoing border crisis and crime rates. “I don’t know if it’s going to be a close race. First of all, as I just pointed out on my radio show, after the debate next week, whether Biden does well or not, when people go to the grocery store the next day, Biden’s support is going to plummet again. No matter how many millions of dollars Biden raises, his ads are not going to overcome the reality of going to a gas station, not being able to afford a house, not being able to find a good job, finding out that immigrants are getting more jobs than Americans,” Gingrich said.

“All of this is falling into place and people are talking to each other way beyond television and social media. And the conversations are almost all bad for Joe Biden.”

Biden raised $28 million at a Los Angeles fundraiser over the weekend alongside Hollywood’s elite, according to multiple reports. But despite Biden’s efforts to launch major advertising campaigns in key battleground states, polls show former President Donald Trump continues to lead in those states.

In May vote A New York Times/Siena College poll projects Trump to lead in five of the six key battleground states in the 2024 election in head-to-head contests — Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania — and that more than 70% of voters surveyed by the group said “big changes” are needed in both the country’s economy and political system, while only 13% think Biden can bring about the needed changes in a second term, the poll found.
