NFL analyst and former offensive lineman Brian Baldinger hopes Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis loses a few pounds heading into the new year.
Davis is listed at 6-foot-6 and 336 pounds, but in Baldinger's eyes, he is “not in good shape.”
“I don't know what fines they're giving him every week, but you have to believe he's extorting money. He's overweight and it shows.” Baldinger said. said. “PHLY Philadelphia Eagles” Podcast Tuesday.

The Eagles' defense has been under intense scrutiny in recent weeks after the team slumped after a 10-1 start. Despite suffering an unexpected loss to the Arizona Cardinals at Lincoln Financial Field, they are now 11-5.
There has been a lot of blame on both sides of the ball, but Baldinger focused the blame on Davis, even though Philadelphia's secondary shouldered much of the defensive responsibility for this failure.
“He's not pursuing football, he's not having any use for the pass rush, so that's one thing. If he played with that much effort and put on weight like that… If it's too much, we'll say, 'Okay, these are players we don't need in the rotation,''' Baldinger said. “Fletcher (Cox) is playing too much… (Davis) is not effective inside, so they need another guy inside in the defensive tackle rotation.”
“I don't know why he keeps dressing. He's been ineffective. He's basically walking down the field when the play is going on. It's a bad effort.”

Davis was the Eagles' No. 13 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and totaled 42 tackles (16 solo), 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 16 games.
The 23-year-old Georgia native had just 18 tackles in 13 games (five starts) last season, but this year he has been given an increased role behind fellow Bulldog Jalen Carter. Although production has increased, Baldinger believes more needs to be done.
