NFL analyst rips Steelers after Russell Wilson departure

There's no positive way for the Steelers to assemble the chaos they pushed themselves at quarterback.

NFL analyst Warren Sharp blasted Pittsburgh brass on Tuesday after failing to provide stability in that position over the past few years.

“Show us a team that doesn't know what they're doing in the most important position in soccer.” Sharp posted on X Before listing each quarterback on the Steelers' roster in 2023 and 2024, listing current situations in 2025.

“100% QB Room sales per year.”

Sharp's tweet comes after this offseason with Russell Wilson, who quarterbacked the Steelers in the playoffs last season and signed a one-year contract with the Giants, guaranteed more sales.

The Steelers previously said their “like” was to sign a multi-year deal with Wilson or Justin Fields this offseason, but Fields landed alongside the Jets on the first day of free agency.

The Steelers are currently playing Aaron Rodgers' waiting game, with the former Jets quarterback taking the time to ponder options for next season.

To be fair, Mason Rudolph was on the Steelers' 2023 roster and played in four games. He eventually became a Titan starter last season, replacing the struggling Will Revis, before returning to manager Mike Tomlin for the 2025 season.

He will likely have to learn a new offense as offensive coordinator Matt Canada replaced him in the 2023 season and former Falcon coach Arthur Smith.

It's still unclear whether Rodgers will actually sign in to Pittsburgh, as the 41-year-old can choose to retire or be held back to see if another team will change their minds about adding him in the end.

Rogers visited with the Steelers last week, and left without signing a deal as rumors swirl around that he likes to join the Vikings, but for now, interest is not visible to each other.

Pittsburgh hadn't had a losing season since 2003, reaching 10-7 last year. He has played the playoffs in four of his last five seasons, aiming to overcome the hump and win the playoff game for the first time since 2016.
