Deshaun Watson's latest lawsuit has concluded.
The NFL's latest investigation into the Browns quarterback ended Friday. According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.coma league spokesperson said there was insufficient evidence regarding a possible violation of the NFL's conduct policy.
Watson was sued in September but reached a settlement with her sexual assault accuser earlier this fall.
“We are pleased to put this matter aside so Deshaun can focus on recovering from his injury and preparing for next season,” Watson's attorney Rusty Hardin said in a statement. According to Cleveland.com.
Watson, who is out for the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon, was suspended for 11 games in 2022 for 24 sexual misconduct and harassment lawsuits, 23 of which were settled.
In addition to the suspension, Watson paid a $5 million fine for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy.
This latest case was closed due to lack of evidence, allowing Watson to avoid further suspension.
Watson has $92 million in guaranteed money over the next two seasons, a base salary of $46 million each year and a cap hit of nearly $73 million each season.
Despite his high-profile arrival in Cleveland, Watson has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the league since joining the Browns, and is currently facing his second straight season-ending injury.
Since then, the Browns have started quarterback Jameis Winston.
Watson started seven games for Cleveland this season, throwing for 1,148 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions as the Browns went 1-6.
Cleveland is 3-9 and on the verge of making the playoffs.
