Please check your calendar.

It’s April.

In honor of the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments and the Masters, April is NFL Draft month this year. The festival begins on his Thursday, April 25th, with the first of seven rounds scheduled to begin. Over his three days in Detroit, all 32 NFL teams will take on the challenge of shaping the present and future.

Now that free agency is winding down, here we are. SB Nation We’re starting to focus on the NFL Draft. Considering the moves that have already been made, we now have a better understanding of where all 32 teams stand and what still needs to be addressed.

First, let’s take a look at the draft needs of all 32 teams by division. We start in the AFC East and one team picks near the top of that first round.

new england patriots

With Mac Jones currently in Jacksonville backing up Trevor Lawrence, Bailey Zappe and recently signed Jacoby Brissett will be the Patriots’ two main options at quarterback. That would certainly push up the list of QB needs in Foxborough, but that’s not all. Additionally, the Patriots are ranked No. 3 overall, so either the No. 3 QB on the board, the best non-QB available, or a trade down if a team offers a king’s ransom for that selection. You may end up choosing one of the following.

Additionally, the roster has other needs as well. The addition of a wide receiver will definitely help those who will take snaps next year, as will strengthening the offensive line. Defensively, bringing back Christian Gonzalez, whose promising rookie season was cut short by injury, will help, but reinforcing not only the defensive line but also the secondary could be a second- and third-day option. It should be.

miami dolphins

A combination of withdrawals, injuries, and injury concerns. DolphinWhat you need this spring.with Christian Wilkins las vegas raidersAdding to the defensive line should be a focus for Miami, with players like Byron Murphy and TyVondre Sweat from Texas and Jarzan Newton from Illinois being potential targets.

It is also necessary to strengthen the offensive line, including interior players. The team will likely add Isaiah Wynn from New England and slide him inside, but solid reinforcement at IOL is a big need for Miami. Jackson Powers-Johnson from Oregon State was a popular pick for the Dolphins in recent mock drafts, and could add depth on Day 2 or 3 with an eye on the tackle spot.

Next is the defensive EDGE spot. The Dolphins have Jaylan Phillips and Bradley Chubb back from season-ending injuries (Phillips with a torn Achilles tendon and Chubb with a torn ACL), but giving them another option on the brink could be a smart play. .

buffalo bills

Depending on who you talk to, the list of needs for the Buffalo Bills can vary widely. Many focused on the wide receiver group, and even with the addition of Stefon Diggs, newly acquired Curtis Samuel, and new slot weapon Khalil Shakir, it would be wise for the Bills to add players at that position. We believe that this is the case. Some people are looking at the defensive line and think Buffalo should bring in talent not only inside but also on the edge.

But then we also look at safety. Buffalo could count on the best safety tandem in the league in recent years in Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer, but that tandem won’t be back in 2024. Poyer is with the Miami Dolphins and Hyde is a free agent. Sean McDermott held the door open until Hyde returned, but that’s still up in the air.

Either way, safety could be a big need for the Bills.

One thing is clear: the Bills have a lot of draft capital on Day 3. Therefore, they could consider using those picks to add depth or move up at some point in the draft.

new york jets

of new york jets We entered the offseason with an urgent need.

Fix the attacking line.

General manager Joe Douglas used free agency to solve that particular problem, adding Tyron Smith, Morgan Mohsen and guard John Simpson in the past few weeks. These additions give Douglas the freedom to address other spots in the draft, but he may look to add depth at the tackle spot.

New York also added Mike Williams in free agency, giving Aaron Rodgers a solid 1-2 duo of Williams and young WR Garrett Wilson. Unless they simply love someone before, a slot option could be available to them later in the draft. In terms of receiving options, giving Rodgers a dynamic tight end could be a move for the team, with Georgia tight end Brock Bowers available when the Jets have time. If so, that could be the move for them.Bowers is Popular Jets picks in recent mock drafts.

Defensively, it would be helpful for the Jets to start at the safety position and look to the secondary. Strengthening cornerback depth could also be a smart investment late in the draft.
