Ty’Vondre Sweat, a top NFL Draft prospect and standout athlete at the University of Texas, was arrested Sunday on DWI charges.
Sweat was arrested in Austin, Texas, around 2:12 p.m., and his bail was reportedly set at $3,000. fox 7. DWI is a Class B misdemeanor in the Longhorn State.

He and his attorney were seen leaving the Travis County Jail later that day, according to KXAN-TV, but neither would comment on the charges.
Sweat could be the first defensive lineman candidate to join the roster. He was named the Associated Press Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, won the Outland Trophy as the nation’s best interior defensive lineman, and was also a unanimous All-America selection.

Sweat played five seasons with the Longhorns, starting before the 2020 season, which was affected by the coronavirus pandemic. In 2023, Sweat played in all 14 games for Texas and recorded two sacks, a career high. He also set a career mark with 45 total tackles.
He also scored a touchdown in the Big 12 Championship Game against Oklahoma.
Some NFL draft experts are pegging Sweat as a potential second-round pick, but his draft stock could be affected by his recent legal troubles.

The draft begins April 25th.
He is the younger brother of Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Josh Sweat.
