The NFL, Steve “Mango” McMichael of the Pro Football Hall, passed away at the age of 67 after fighting ALS.
McMichael’s wife, Misty, said Fox 32 Chicago Her husband was admitted to hospice care on Wednesday after “not responding for the past two weeks.” The NFL announced his death at X later that day.
McMichael was in and out of hospital last year after developing infections such as MRSA and UTI.

He received a blood transfusion last year shortly after being inducted into the Hall of Fame. McMichael was selected along with Dwight Freeney, Devin Hester, Julius Peppers, Andre Johnson, Patrick Willis and Randy Gradishire.
Nodded to Canton, but he was unable to travel to the induction ceremony due to complications of the illness.
However, McMichael was shown on his bronze-wearing video board Hall of Fame A jacket from a hospital bed surrounded by loved ones.
“I want to thank the Chicago Bears and the fans, the perfect city to play football,” Kathy McMichael said in a speech she worked with her brother before losing her ability to move or speak. “I played in the NFL for 15 years and loved every minute of downs. I played with the best players and biggest defense of today.”

“You’re on a team that will never be cut and never be released. When you die, you’ll always be on this team.
Misty was shedding tears as she transformed her husband into a bronze bust.
“It’s you, baby, forever,” she said.
McMichael spent most of his outstanding career in Chicago and helped lead the Bears to the Super Bowl title during the 1985 season. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was selected to four All-Pro teams.

McMichael finished his Bears career with a 92½ bag. He played for New England Patriots The Green Bay Packers have also similarly won Bookend in their 15-year NFL career.
