Support for Jaxson Dart from Giants Teammates
Over the recent long weekend, various teammates of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart rallied to his side.
Dart made headlines after he introduced comments made by President Donald Trump during a rally in New York on Friday. Though his speech was brief—lasting under a minute—it ignited a flurry of reactions across the internet.
“The locker room is fine.”
Giants linebacker Abdul Carter was one of the first players to respond early Saturday. He initially expressed skepticism, suggesting the footage of Dart at the Trump rally might have been manufactured using AI.
“I thought this was AI, but this is what we do,” Carter commented. Later that evening, however, he updated his stance on X, saying that his discussions with Dart had been “good.”
“We spoke earlier as men. I can keep all the stories,” Carter added.
Meanwhile, Boston Globe reporter Ben Bolin had already referred to Carter’s comments, concluding that Dart had “divided the locker room.”
This assessment did not sit well with Giants offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor. “The locker room is fine,” he asserted in a post on X. He also suggested that the reporter should pay more attention to local NFL teams, remarking, “Focus on New England.”
On a different note, Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey voiced his opinions on Sunday night, claiming that the online criticism of President Trump was misleading.
“Fake Trump is not funny to me,” he stated in a tweet. “The majority voted for him, yet it seems everyone hates him (lol)…someone is lying.”
Humphrey’s remarks echo his past sentiments from February 2025, when he expressed confusion over the apparent widespread aversion to Trump despite his election win.
In another instance, wide receiver Darius Slayton stepped in to defend Dart against various online accusations that had circulated for a year. Slayton addressed an allegation made by former NFL player Aqib Talib, who claimed Dart had used a derogatory term during a prank call. This reference stemmed from a 2025 incident involving Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr.
According to Slayton, Dart was not the individual on the other end of the prank call, asserting, “The references to Talib in the video are not even spoken by Jax. This tweet is pure nonsense.” There have been suggestions among Giants fans that another teammate, Tyler Nubin, answered the phone, but the identity of the speaker remains uncertain.
Interestingly, within the same context, Talib mentioned having white friends who used the derogatory term and stated that it was “cool.” This has only added more layers to the ongoing discussion surrounding Dart.
