NFL playoff picture: Week 11 results shaking up standings

With big games in both the NFC and AFC playoffs, we're sure to see some big changes in the standings during Week 11.

The highlight of the early game was the divisional matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. The winner takes first place in the AFC North, while the loser takes first place in the wild-card race.

Sunday's late afternoon slot will feature an absolutely massive game in the AFC, with the first-place Kansas City Chiefs visiting the second-place Buffalo Bills. The Bills won't be able to overtake the Chiefs with a win, but this will put them within range of the No. 1 seed and a bye.

More playoff teams are scheduled for Sunday, including the Atlanta Falcons vs. the Denver Broncos, the Seattle Seahawks vs. the San Francisco 49ers, and on Sunday night, the Cincinnati Bengals vs. the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles opened Week 11 on Thursday night. The Eagles crushed the Commanders to improve to 8-2, leaving them just 0.5 games behind the NFC-leading Detroit Lions. Meanwhile, Washington remains in the playoffs with a 7-4 record.

The Dallas Cowboys are not relevant here, but the Houston Texans also play on Monday night.

Below is the current NFL playoff standings as of Sunday's remarks. We will continue to update as the game progresses to the finals.

Week 11 NFL Playoff Photo Highlights

The NFC East race continues from Week 10 onwards.

In Week 10, the Commanders lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Dallas Cowboys, reversing the standings between Washington and Philadelphia. The Eagles rose from sixth to second in the conference, while the Commanders fell from second to sixth. Thursday night's results further solidified that change.

The Lions are the team to beat in the NFC.

No one expected the Jaguars to put up much of a fight in Week 11, but the Lions still left an impression of defeating the Jaguars. Detroit has to keep winning because the Eagles and Vikings are close, but they are clearly the best team in the conference.

Packers run away, ending Bears' playoff chances

The Bears nearly shocked the Packers in Chicago, but Green Bay blocked a potential game-winning field goal attempt. Chicago falls to 4-6 and is not eliminated, but they are off to a strong start and have a chance to make the playoffs. Meanwhile, Green Bay remains on pace with the Lions and Vikings for one of the wild-card spots.

Steelers take care of business

The Steelers played well enough to host the Ravens and take care of their business. Some key late stops supported an 18-16 victory, giving them an early advantage in the tiebreak. Additionally, the Steelers have the advantage in the conference record tiebreaker over the Bills, so Pittsburgh is currently the No. 2 team in the AFC pending the results between the Chiefs and the Bills.
