Jason Kelce appeared before a local board Feb. 20 to outline his plans for building an additional home on his property.
Kelce owns a large piece of property in the Philadelphia suburb of Haverford Township and has plans to build a new home on the land, as well as a fence to upgrade the security on the property, he told the board in a video posted by WGAL. He faced opposition from neighbors, who objected based on the belief that the planned construction could pose a flood risk to their surrounding homes. Kelce personally appealed to the local zoning board and secured approval to move forward with the project.
Kelce expressed concern for his family’s safety as a result of his celebrity status, and explained that he felt special measures were required.
“We want to be in this area, we like this area a lot,” he said.
“Obviously, things for my family are quite unique with the security purposes. We’d like to just deter a little bit of the foot traffic coming in and out of the home,” he said.
“So we’re trying to put a fence that sufficiently does that, but also appeals to the aesthetic of the area, and that people would appreciate,” Kelce explained.

Neighbors took issue with Kelce’s plans to remove a number of slopes on his land by leveling out his property, citing that the process could increase water runoff and flooding issues, according to WGAL.
The zoning board approved his request, saying that he needed to ensure storm water management would be carried out to protect his neighbors’ homes. (RELATED: South American Crime Ring Suspected In Robberies Of NFL Stars: REPORT)
Reports suggest Kelce’s 10-acre compound has three properties on it, with intentions of demolishing the existing structures in favor of a luxury mansion at the center of the property, according to the Daily Mail.
The newly retired football player has reportedly spent almost $6 million developing this piece of land since 2018.
