Super Bowl Week Highlights Wingmen in Football
San Francisco – No successful football team goes without wingmen, both on-field and off. And, just like fans can’t enjoy the Super Bowl without wings, a team can’t achieve victory without chemistry—something that the right wingmen help maintain.
This Super Bowl Week, several teammate pairs took part in Bounty’s Wingman campaign. They celebrated the importance of wingmen on the field and talked about how they contribute to each other’s success.
Penei Sewell of the Detroit Lions shared his thoughts on his teammate Amon-Ra St. Brown: “We were drafted together by Detroit. We’ve become a big part of building the team’s culture. On the field, he does his job, I do mine, and it’s fun.” Amon-Ra added, “Without him, Jared [Goff] can’t throw the ball. If Jared doesn’t throw, I can’t catch. He’s my wingman.”
For the Los Angeles Chargers, Ladd McConkie recently found his wingman in Keenan Allen, who returned after a brief period away. McConkie expressed gratitude: “It meant a lot to have him back. His leadership in the receiver room was special, and we gained so much knowledge from him.”
Reed Blankenship and Cooper DeJean of the Philadelphia Eagles also have a close relationship. DeJean noted, “When I got into the NFL, he was very supportive and taught me everything—good and bad.” Blankenship reflected on the positive dynamic: “I was trying to push him to make mistakes, but he hardly did. Playing alongside him was a great experience.”
New York Giants rookies Jackson Dart and Cam Skatebo have quickly won over fans, and Dart explained why: “It starts with our competitiveness, our daily habits, and overall discipline on the field. But we also bring a lot of passion to the game.” Skatebo chimed in, “We don’t leave any meat on our bones when we play.”
