It's rare that an NFL receiver can catch a 97-yard touchdown bomb and not be the most impressive player on the play, but that's exactly what happened in Sunday's Vikings-49ers game, and it caught the referees' attention.
Second quarter of the game Viking Quarterback Sam Darnold threw a missile pass from the end zone to speedy star receiver Justin Jefferson, who grabbed the ball just past the 50-yard line and drove it all the way to the house for a touchdown.
But even more impressive than Jefferson's sprint was the umpire's, who matched Jefferson's stride and staggered out of the way of the receiver. past The star player retreated to the end zone to get a better view of the touchdown.
I watched this play again and it was a great highlight for the umpire.
He senses Jefferson coming towards him and stops.

Talk about exceeding expectations. (Related: NFL star showers opponents with punches after they swarm him after punching quarterback)
I can't even begin to describe how amazing this is. Justin Jefferson ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds at the NFL Combine and is likely faster in a game, while this guy in pinstripes skates alongside him like it's nothing. Someone sign this guy to a contract!
Sportswriter Roger Sherman Identified Second-year running back Tyree Walton is a former running back himself.
Walton played ball at Division II Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. story From U.S. Bank, where Walton serves as vice president: According to on his LinkedIn.
Now, simply having speed is not enough to make an NFL roster, and a DII pedigree doesn't necessarily back up a professional stat, but with the field vision, athleticism and sheer determination to go the extra mile that Walton showed in this highlight, I'd be happy to offer him a tryout and have him carry the ball for my 0-2 Giants, who should be willing to try anything at this point.
