49ERS (+4) vs. Rams
The 49ers managed to pull off a surprise win against the Rams, 26-23, in overtime during their Week 5 matchup. It was one of those games that had everyone talking.
For a good part of the game, San Francisco controlled the score, even pulling ahead 20-7 in the third quarter. However, the Rams made a comeback in the fourth, pushing the game into overtime.
This time around, the 49ers get to benefit from a favorable point spread at home.
While the Rams might have the edge overall, I think the 49ers can keep it tight and possibly come away with a win.
Mac Jones seems to be fitting well under Kyle Shanahan’s system, and, if Brock Purdy makes it back, that could be a game changer. Plus, Christian McCaffrey is capable of making plays both as a rusher and receiver.
Jones put up impressive numbers in his last outing—33 completions on 49 attempts for 342 yards and two TDs, while Kendrick Bourne had some solid opportunities to exploit the defense.
PANTHERS (-4.5) vs. SAINTS
Surprisingly, the Panthers are turning heads as potential playoff contenders in the NFC.
Their recent upset against the Packers marks their fourth win in five games. With Tyler Schau back as the starting QB, this could either be a fantastic opportunity or a tricky situation, especially without Rashid Shahid to help out.
If we ignore the Bills’ struggles with Andy Dalton, the Panthers could be looking at a 3-0 record at home, averaging an impressive 29 points in their wins against the Falcons, Dolphins, and Cowboys.
On the flip side, the Saints have been underwhelming. They’ve faced significant losses in every away game this season, often by more than 12 points. They struggled to contain the Rams, allowing 171 rushing yards recently.
It might not even matter if Rico Doodle is healthy or not; the expectation is that the Panthers should win comfortably, perhaps by a touchdown or even more.
