NFL Week 13 picks, odds

Atlanta Falcons (+1.5) vs. Los Angeles Chargers

There are several factors working against the Chargers in this spot.

First, the Falcons were eliminated by a bye, and Los Angeles lost to the Ravens on Monday, so they're at a huge disadvantage when it comes to rest.

Next, they travel east for a 10 a.m. PT kickoff.

When choosing to play the Chargers last week, we noted how their stats were inflated by their easy schedule.

Over the past two games, the Bengals and Ravens have combined for 57 points against each other, with Baltimore rushing for 212 yards on Monday.

Atlanta's rushing attack is one of the most potent in the NFL, and a fresh-faced Bijan Robinson could be quite difficult to stop.

The Falcons should also be a more desperate team after bad losses to the Saints and Broncos.

Denver Broncos (-5.5) vs. Cleveland Browns

The Browns had their best moment of the season on Thursday, but that atmosphere won't last in the Mile High City.

Denver has historically been a tough place to play, and it seems like a mismatch for Jameis Winston to throw against an opportunistic Broncos defense.

Nick Chubb also appears to be taking a step slower than in the past while working his way back from injury.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have a rising rookie quarterback in Bo Nix who is playing very well, and Denver should satisfy a home crowd that hasn't seen a meaningful game in a while.

Remember, in Winston's last road start, the Browns couldn't keep up with a Saints team that was mediocre at best, losing 35-14.

Denver is also one of the best teams in the NFL against the spread, going 9-3 including 4-1.

last week:2-0. Eagles (W), Ravens (W)
season:9-15.
