As the NFL enters Week 3 of the 2024 season, many analysts are asking the question: Where has the passing game gone?
Passing touchdowns are down, passing yards are down, and some are wondering if the prevalent two-high coverage is eliminating the passing game… and whether the two-high coverage needs to be eliminated altogether.
To that we say: Let's run the football again.
That aside, an early look into Week 3 of the NFL season reveals something else.
There were some ugly turnovers.
For example…
Will Revis has already had some head-scratching turnovers this season. First there was the pick-six in Week 1 that led to the “Surrender Cobra” on the play and became perhaps the first true meme of the 2024 NFL season. Then there was the Week 2 turnover that had everyone, including his head coach, wondering what he was thinking.
He threw this pick-six early Sunday. Green Bay Packers Maybe it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't really great either.
Jalen Hurts committed two turnovers. Philadelphia Eagles In a match against New Orleans SaintsIt was perhaps the biggest surprise so far this season, starting with the interception in the end zone.
And then the disastrous fumble happened just after the Eagles crossed the 50-yard line and entered Saints territory.
Sunday's game Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears Two of the league's youngest quarterbacks, Anthony Richardson and Caleb Williams, flourished.
Both threw some head-scratching interceptions.
