Sports Reporter Anna Dua’s Mishap Before NHL Game
Sportsnet NHL reporter Anna Dua found herself in an unexpected situation just before the game between the New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday. She vanished from view while trying to prepare for a TV segment.
On air, Dua shared that while rushing for a pregame report, she ended up face-first in a back hallway of the arena. David Amber, the Sportsnet studio host, playfully remarked on her misfortune, asking if she had indeed fallen just minutes before the show began.
“Yes, it happened right in front of the New York Rangers during their warm-ups,” she said, humorously suggesting they might want to show the footage to viewers at home.
Amber made a light-hearted comment about her heels, joking that they might need to be banned at work. “We’ve all been there,” he said, wishing her well and advising her to enjoy the game. After all, it was an Original Six matchup that evening.
Dua, in a good-natured tone, remarked, “As long as I’m standing on my own two feet,” reflecting on the incident with some levity. Following the game, in which Toronto secured a 2-1 overtime win, she posted the footage on social media.
On X, Dua wrote, “Raise your hand if you got yelled at by Hockey Central’s @DavidAmber for running around to take a hit in front of the entire New York Rangers while warming up in all white. Don’t worry, my photographer @Gariepy21 caught the fall on camera.”
She also shared the clip on her Instagram, highlighting the humorous side of the incident. “Talk about getting wiped out in front of an NHL team on national television *isn’t* on my bingo card,” she said, expressing disbelief at the turn of events. “When I became a sports reporter, I never thought I’d be talking about this.”
Dua concluded by joking that if anyone thought she was having a rough day, it wasn’t as bad as it seemed, adding some tears-of-laughter emojis for good measure.
