Nick Cannon shocked fans by posting an image of himself in a hospital bed Saturday.
The famous TV host and comedian revealed he was battling pneumonia that was serious enough to require him to be admitted to the hospital, and provided a health update to his 6 million Instagram followers. “Okay, so I guess I’m not Superman… I promised myself I would never be back at this place again… ” Cannon wrote. He went on to pass along some very valuable advice to his fans. “But this is a great lesson to take care of YOU or YOU won’t be able to take care of everyone else,” he wrote.
Cannon was masked with his head raised slightly off the pillow in the first image that he posted to Instagram. He was hooked up to various machines which were visible in the photograph.
“Don’t trip though, I don’t need any well wishes or prayers , just some solid rest and I will be back on the journey to becoming stronger than ever… it’s just pneumonia, nothing I can’t handle,” the 42-year-old artist wrote.
The second photograph showed Cannon lying down in the hospital bed with his eyes closed. His hospital gown seemed to be covering monitoring devices that he was hooked up to. (RELATED: Nick Cannon Jokes About All His Kids And ‘Baby-Mamas’ In New Christmas Video)
“Crazy thing is, last night we was just rocking a sold out crowd at Madison square garden in front of thousands of fans, now I’m all alone in a tiny hospital room,” Cannon said.
He concluded his post, saying, “Life is definitely a rollercoaster! #LupusWarrior.”
The extent of his illness remains unknown at this time.
