Nick Reiner appears in court on Tuesday for the suspected murders of Rob and Michele Reiner.

A son is facing serious allegations after the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner, a well-known Hollywood director, and his mother, Michelle. Nick Reiner, aged 32, is expected to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday morning, where formal charges are set to be filed against him.

The arrest, captured on video, saw the parents being handcuffed by the gang and narcotics unit of the Los Angeles Police Department around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, following their discovery in their Brentwood residence.

Nick was taken into custody on murder suspicion shortly after 5 a.m. on Monday and is currently held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility. Reports indicate he is under suicide watch.

The acclaimed director, known for films like “The Princess Bride” and “A Few Good Men,” was found deceased alongside his wife, Michelle Singer Reiner, on Sunday afternoon. Their 28-year-old daughter, Romy, discovered them and later informed investigators that her brother had a history of substance abuse and presented as “dangerous,” making him a potential suspect.

Subsequent investigations led to Nick’s arrest later that same day. The police stated, “After an initial investigation, it was determined that Mr. and Mrs. Reiner were victims of homicide,” confirming Nick’s alleged involvement.

Reports suggest that a heated argument erupted between Nick and his parents at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party the previous Saturday, possibly related to his recent drug use and refusal to seek help. It’s worth noting that since he was 15, Nick has entered rehabilitation at least 17 times.
