Nicki Minaj, often referred to as the “Queen of Rap,” has made significant strides in her career since releasing her debut album, Pink Friday.

Her first major hit, “Your Love,” came out in 2010. Since that time, she has received 12 Grammy nominations.

This 42-year-old artist recently collaborated with President Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations to address the violence against Christians in Nigeria.

Minaj recently spoke at the United Nations, raising awareness about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. She acknowledged President Trump for his leadership and for bringing attention to this urgent situation.

Her engagement with this topic isn’t new; she has commended the Trump administration for highlighting the issue.

Just last month, the administration announced its intent to label Nigeria as a “country of special concern” due to the severe acts of violence against Christians.

Minaj, known for her bold demeanor and explicit lyrics, hasn’t shied away from sharing her views. While she has historically supported Democratic leaders like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, her stance has shifted in recent times to show support for Trump.

Interestingly, she has criticized some of Trump’s immigration policies and expressed discomfort, especially regarding the separation of families. Minaj, being a Caribbean immigrant herself, resonated with those issues, yet found humor in his television persona on “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Last month, she also shared a viral TikTok trend involving Trump’s granddaughter, which featured her hit song “Beads in the Trap.” It seems she has a playful side, engaging with her fanbase in unique ways.

On November 1, she reposted content from Trump’s Truth social, emphasizing the dire plight of Christianity in Nigeria. She expressed her gratitude for the freedoms enjoyed in her own country and highlighted that no one should suffer for their beliefs.

Moreover, she made it clear that extremism exists across various religions and extended her thoughts of love to her Muslim followers too.

“Each of us should be able to worship in peace,” Minaj declared during her time at the UN, and she promptly accepted an invitation to discuss the issue further that day.

She also took a moment to reflect on how she began in the rap industry during the early 2000s, first as a backup singer before catching the eye of Lil Wayne. Her journey skyrocketed with the release of her debut album in 2010.

Over the years, she has released a series of successful albums, including Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded in 2012, The Pinkprint in 2014, Queen in 2018, and more recently, Pink Friday 2 in 2023. Besides her music, Minaj has appeared in movies like “The Other Woman” and “Barbershop: The Next Cut.”

Her trailblazing presence in the music industry is evident; she holds more entries on the Billboard Hot 100 than any other rapper and has garnered numerous accolades, though she has not yet won a Grammy. Still, this year, she was named the “greatest female rapper of all time” by Billboard.

Ambassador Waltz remarked on her principled stance and ability to speak up against injustice, appreciating her influence and support in the conversation around religious freedom.
