Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Finalize Their Divorce

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have quietly finalized their divorce, wrapping up their separation without the usual Hollywood drama that typically accompanies such splits.

In Tinseltown, breakups often escalate into messy disputes involving not just legal battles, but also custody fights, financial arguments, and sensational leaks that keep tabloid reporters busy for weeks. So, the discreet manner in which Kidman and Urban have managed their split is quite refreshing. It’s certainly a rarity in an industry where private endings are often hard to come by.

The Oscar-winning actress and the country music star moved swiftly to settle their divorce terms, clearly prioritizing their children over public spectacle.

On Tuesday, the couple announced they had mutually agreed to waive all claims regarding both child support and spousal support. Their daughters, Sunday Rose, who is 17, and Faith Margaret, aged 15, will spend 306 days a year with Kidman, while Urban will have visitation every other weekend.

The two also consented not to seek any child support, given that both of their monthly incomes exceed $100,000, which is quite a comfortable place to be.

Compared to other recent celebrity divorces—like those of Kevin Costner, Denise Richards, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and Johnny Depp and Amber Heard—Kidman and Urban’s breakup stands out for its simplicity.

Reports indicate that the former couple amicably decided to split their belongings—including investments, bank accounts, furniture, cars, and other personal items—by mutual agreement. Each will keep their property, avoiding the prolonged disputes and public fallout that often accompany Hollywood divorces.

They also waived claims for alimony and agreed to cover their own legal expenses.

It’s still uncertain whether a prenuptial agreement was in place, but it seems that a level of mutual respect—rare in such scenarios—allowed them to end their marriage relatively smoothly.

Urban confirmed that they will be separating in 2025 after a 19-year marriage. Kidman has officially filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
