Nicole Kidman Files for Divorce from Keith Urban
Nicole Kidman has initiated divorce proceedings against Keith Urban, as revealed in documents obtained by Fox News Digital. The couple, who has been married for nearly 20 years, are facing what Kidman, 58, describes as “irreconcilable differences.” This suggests some serious underlying issues, although specific details weren’t disclosed.
Kidman stated that they had been separated since September 30, citing a desire to be named the primary residential parent for their two children. Additionally, she has requested that the court endorse a parenting plan, which indicates that the children would be under her care for the majority of the year.
The documents also mention that Urban has fulfilled all of his child support obligations and went beyond the usual requirements to ensure the children’s needs are met. It seems both parents have significant individual assets and are capable of providing for their children independently.
Moreover, in her filing, the Oscar-winning actress has sought to finalize the divorce during the upcoming hearing, asking for an “absolute divorce.” Neither Kidman nor Urban’s representatives promptly responded to requests for comments on this matter.
Interestingly, Urban had previously spoken about the importance of maintaining balance in family life. In a 2023 interview, he noted that family should always come first, even amid life’s chaos, though it can sometimes feel a bit unbalanced.
Kidman and Urban first crossed paths in 2005 at an Australian event, tying the knot a year later in Sydney. Before her marriage to Urban, Kidman was married to Tom Cruise, a union that produced two adopted children, Isabella and Connor, before their divorce in 2001.
