Nicole Kidman reveals her surprisingly modest ride

Famous Australian actress Nicole Kidman can’t kick ass in the Outback.

This elusive and always talented actress proves to be a lot more down to earth than her numerous awards and accolades would suggest.

While chatting with Victoria Beckham, she opened up about the surprising type of car she drives.

Beckham was interviewed by Kidman. Vogue Australia, Beckham made headlines last year when she told viewers of a Netflix documentary that she grew up “working class,” but her husband, David Beckham, insisted she say that her father drove a Rolls Royce – a conversation that sparked discussion about Beckham.

“Did they really drive you to school in a Rolls?” Kidman asked her beloved Spice Girl.

“My dad had a Rolls Royce and he had a white van. I come from a working-class background and my dad was an entrepreneur in the ’80s and he started a business with my mum in his kitchen and it was hugely successful, so he bought a Rolls Royce. We went to a normal school and we didn’t live in a big house, but as soon as he saved up enough money he bought a Rolls Royce,” Beckham explained.

“Some days I went to school in a Rolls Royce, and other days I went in a van because my father was an electrical goods wholesaler and a very hard worker. My brothers and I used to ask him if we could go to school in a white van. The thought of going in a Rolls Royce was embarrassing. Times have changed so much! Nowadays they say forget about the van, go in a roller! But back then we just wanted to blend in.”

Kidman admitted that while her husband, musician Keith Urban, has an affinity for cars, she has no interest in them.

“My husband is a car guy. I’m not a car guy,” she told the fashion designer. “I’m happy to be picked up in any car,” she said. “But I do like a little bit of air conditioning.”

“But what do you drive?” Beckham asked. “That’s what I want to know. What does Nicole drive?”

“So here’s the thing: My husband bought me a Lamborghini,” Kidman revealed, before clarifying that she doesn’t drive the car, “But I drive a Subaru and my husband drives a Lamborghini.”

Beckham said he could picture Kidman climbing out of a Lamborghini, known for its distinctive scissor doors: “I love the idea of Nicole Kidman parking somewhere and looking at those doors, because they open, you know?”

Kidman revealed that her Lamborghini model is a unique doorless Urus, with prices starting at $275,000.

“Oh yeah… I still like to imagine myself in a Lamborghini with the wings up,” Beckham continued.

“That’s why I think he bought it for me,” Kidman said of Urban. “He loves fast cars, he loves any car. That’s his style. He’s from Queensland, he came from nothing. Like David, it’s like, ‘You build yourself up and become what you are.’ And it’s the same for you and me. All four of us are self-made, you know?”

This isn’t the first time Kidman has hinted at a more casual lifestyle. Elle Magazine Kidman said earlier this year that living in Tennessee gave her the opportunity to be “just a citizen.”

“I like to be a part of things that aren’t about work or about myself,” she told the outlet, referring to causes like donating diapers and visiting children’s hospitals. “I’m just a citizen living in the world, and when I do that, the kids are happy,” she noted.
