Nigel Farage Shares That His House Was Attacked with a Firebomb

Political Violence Targeting Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform Britain, has disclosed that his home was recently subjected to a firebomb attack, marking a disturbing trend of political violence aimed at members of the Brexit party.

Over in the United States, an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump added to the anxieties surrounding the safety of populist figures globally.

In Britain, Farage, a long-time ally of Trump, has experienced various forms of political aggression, including being assaulted with items like cement and milkshakes. Notably, an Afghan illegal immigrant was convicted last year for issuing threats against him through multiple TikTok videos.

What’s perhaps most alarming is the firebombing incident last year, which Farage has recently spoken about. He confirmed that a petrol incendiary device was forcibly placed in his mailbox during this attack.

“It was clearly an arson attempt. I wasn’t home at the time, but when I returned and opened the door, I was shocked by the damage. Luckily, it burned out at the entrance, suggesting the attackers might have been interrupted. The police are investigating, but, so far, there are no leads,” he shared with a major newspaper.

Farage noted that this attack coincided with a disturbing wave of arson incidents targeting property associated with Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Unlike Starmer, however, Farage opted not to publicize the attack immediately, fearing it could inspire copycat incidents, which had happened before.

Now, he feels compelled to address the situation, especially after it was revealed in the press that British Reform benefactor Christopher Harborn gifted him millions for personal security prior to his election as an MP.

“I really don’t want to discuss this, but I feel I must now that details about my financial situation have been leaked, which I believe is both outrageous and unlawful,” he commented.

Harborn, a Thailand-based billionaire involved in cryptocurrency, has reportedly donated £5 million to Farage, along with over £12 million to the Reform Party.

This particular donation occurred in 2024, well before Farage decided to run for Parliament, meaning it didn’t have to be declared as a political contribution. Harborn was with Farage during an incident in 2019 when the politician was attacked with a milkshake and had expressed concern about Farage’s security.

“This money was meant to ensure my safety for the rest of my life,” Farage stated. “I’ve sought security funding unsuccessfully from the Home Office. It seems the state won’t support me. I find myself pretty much on my own, and I have to confront that stark reality. Christopher genuinely cares about my safety.”

On the other hand, both the Conservative and Labor parties are suggesting that Farage might have violated parliamentary ethics by not declaring his donation, according to the BBC.

This financial controversy emerged just days before crucial local elections in the UK, where Farage’s Reform Britain Party is anticipated to perform strongly amid declining voter support for the traditional parties.

Farage has projected that the reforms could lead to a significant defeat for Labor in their stronghold, potentially resulting in Prime Minister Starmer’s resignation.
