Nigerian Boxer Dies Suddenly After Collapsing Mid-Fight

Nigerian boxer Gabriel Oluwasegan Olanuwaj, 40, died suddenly during a match at Bucom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana.

Olanrewaju (13-8-1, 12 Kos) was facing Jon Mbanugu (13-1-1, 12 Kos) in the eight-round light heavyweight fight on Saturday, when the tragedy took place.

BBC Report Remi Aboderin, general secretary of Nigeria's Boxing Committee, described Oluwasegun as having died in the “frightening” fighter, the “Ring Warrior.”
