Changes to Dodgers’ Uniforms in 2026
The classic uniforms of the Dodgers haven’t made much of an appearance lately.
When Nike introduced the Vapor Premier design for Major League Baseball in 2024, it received strong criticism almost immediately. Players across the league voiced their concerns about the thin material and the ill-fitting pants, which seemed better suited for a beach volleyball match than for a serious baseball season.
Many pointed fingers at MLB and Fanatics. In response, the CEO of Fanatics, Michael Rubin, claimed his company was just implementing Nike’s plan. The design came from Nike, MLB gave it the green light, and Fanatics executed it.
The frustration echoed in Los Angeles, not just regarding the uniform’s breathability but also an obvious error. Fans quickly noticed that the script on the jersey was incorrect.
The second “d” in “Dodgers” was oddly cut in half on the jersey placket, almost as if someone had carelessly snipped the logo in half. While some dismissed it as a minor issue, it certainly didn’t sit well with fans who cherished that script for years.
Fortunately, it seems Nike is finally addressing these concerns for 2026.
The redesigned font is larger, and the spacing between letters has improved. Importantly, the lowercase “d” no longer awkwardly splits around the jersey’s opening, making the logo much more cohesive.
Furthermore, a clear separation now exists between the “o” and “d,” bringing back that iconic look fans expect from the Dodgers. The fabric quality has also been enhanced; it’s thicker, more durable, and less transparent, which has been a common critique since early 2024.
The 2026 uniforms will officially debut when the Dodgers face the Angels in the Cactus League season opener at Tempe Diablo Stadium, with the regular season kick-off against the Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium scheduled for March 26th.
