Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley announced on Wednesday that she is withdrawing from the race for the Republican presidential nomination following her landslide defeat to former President Donald Trump on Super Tuesday.
Haley is among the 15 states where the Republican presidential nomination will be contested on Tuesday. won Up until that point, her only winning presidential campaign was the Republican presidential primary in Washington, D.C.
In remarks Wednesday, Haley announced she was suspending her campaign.
“Donald Trump will probably be the Republican nominee at the convention in July. I congratulate him and wish him the best. Whoever becomes president of the United States. I wish you luck,” she said.
