Nikki Haley Is ‘Not Campaigning to Win’

NBC News chief political analyst Chuck Todd said Sunday on “Meet the Press” that Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-South Carolina) is “campaigning to win.” That's not the case,” he said.

Anchor Kristen Welker said, “Welcome back. I'll ask my colleagues what we'll be watching for the last 48 hours here and Tuesday night.”

Todd said, “Governor Haley made the decision to cancel the debate only if Donald Trump showed up. And while I understand the rationale at this point in which she made that decision. , which actually robbed her of a potential opportunity to make a last-minute appeal against these undeclared voters. Look, this is probably her last best chance to create a situation where Trump becomes vulnerable. .”

He added, “He's got to lose somewhere. This was the best place we could beat him, so we couldn't let these opportunities pass by without having these discussions, even if it was just with DeSantis.'' I'm shocked she's not trying to be on every show she can. She's not campaigning to win. She seems like she's campaigning to protect something. , I don't know what that is right now.”
