Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) said in a speech Saturday that she will continue campaigning for president despite her devastating loss in the Palmetto State.
Haley spoke after news outlets reported that former President Donald Trump was the winner of South Carolina’s Republican primary just minutes after polls closed.
“What I saw was dissatisfaction in South Carolina with the direction of our country,” she said in her speech.
“We can’t worry about America any more,” she added.
“If we make the wrong choice, America will fall apart,” he said, hinting that he would continue to run for president.
“We need to beat Joe Biden in November,” she said.
“There are a huge number of voters in the Republican primary who are looking for an alternative,” Haley said.
She said, “I said earlier this week that no matter what happens in South Carolina, I will continue to run for president. I am a woman of my word.”
“That’s why I will continue to fight for them, for you, and for all of America,” Haley added.
